CU in the Community

Here at Horizon we believe it is important to support our members and their communities. You may have noticed Horizon Credit Union sponsoring local events or our employees volunteering to help causes in your area. Horizon is committed to the areas we serve and proud of our employee's dedication to community service. Below we have highlighted some of the events Horizon participates in throughout the year.

Community Spirit Days
Community Spirit Days at Horizon are a way for employees to raise money for Horizon members in need or to contribute to local community events and organizations. Donations go to a variety of causes, ranging from a Credit Union member in need to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Fire Fighters Fund. Employees are asked to donate at least $5.00 to the fund. In return they can wear jeans and a Horizon logo shirt. It's just Horizon's way of saying thank you to all of our employees that participate. Next time you walk into a Horizon branch and notice employees in a Horizon logo shirt and jeans, stop and ask what cause they are helping out today!

Halstead Scholarship for Higher Education
Every year the Board of Directors is proud to offer the Halstead Scholarship for higher education in honor of long standing Board Member Cliff Halstead. Mr. Halstead has served for more than 40 years on the Board of Directors for Horizon. Tom Farr, former Chairman of the Board said, "Cliff has exemplified honesty and perseverance throughout his career and those are the qualities that personify what we are looking for in scholarship candidates." To apply for the Halstead Scholarship please contact the financial aid/scholarship offices at the following universities: Eastern Washington University, University of Idaho, and Washington State University.
