What to Shred

It’s a good idea to shred sensitive documents you no longer need. This keeps your personal information from falling into the wrong hands. Your birth certificate and social security card are examples of items you should keep forever.

Shred right away when you no longer need these:  Keep these for at least a year:  Keep for 7 years: 
Deposited or cancelled checks Pay stubs Tax records and receipts
Receipts containing card information Bank statements   
Documents with your name and address Medical records and bills  
Expired items like credit cards, visas, passports and IDs    


*Three file box shred limit per person. Consumers only, no businesses please. Free refreshments and swag while supplies last!
