What is an overdraft? An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction. In the event that this happens, your transaction may be denied or returned. However, here at Horizon we believe every member deserves some consideration rather than automatically returning insufficient funds. This is why we offer members Overdraft Privilege and other overdraft protection plans.

| In the event that an overdraft occurs on your account Horizon will consider, without obligation on our part, payment of your insufficient funds up to the assigned Overdraft Privilege limit. Overdraft Privilege is a cost effective solution for those who occasionally make a mistake when balancing their account and go below a zero balance. Overdraft Privilege can save you the embarrassment and inconvenience of returned checks and late payment fees. |
We will automatically authorize and pay overdraft items for the following types of transactions: |
- Checks
- Automatic bill payments
- Other transactions using your checking number.

Members do not have to apply for this service. It is automatically part of a member's Checking/Draft Deposit Account Agreement with Horizon (with a few exceptions). |
| When Overdraft Privilege is initiated by a member, due to insufficient funds, a fee of up to $31 will be applied to each insufficient funds item. If at any time you would like to opt out of this service or review your use of service please give us a call at 800-852-5316. |
| Other overdraft protection plans: |
| With an overdraft protection plan you can link your checking account to a share account, Horizon Visa, or line of credit. In the event that your checking account goes below a zero balance, money will be transferred from your share account, Horizon Visa, or line of credit to cover the insufficient funds in exchange for a small fee: |
