Halstead Scholarship for Higher Education 

Every year the Horizon Credit Union Board of Directors is proud to offer the Halstead Scholarship in honor of longstanding Board Member Cliff Halstead. The Halstead Scholarship is available to Eastern Washington University, University of Idaho and Washington State University students. 

To Apply:  
Contact the financial aid office from any of the listed schools. Inform the office that you are interested in the Halstead Scholarship. Applicant must be a member of Horizon Credit Union or have a qualifying family member who is.

Mabel Allen Memorial Scholarship 

This scholarship honors Mabel Allen for her service as a credit union employee and board member dating back to 1941. Before merging with Horizon Credit Union, Montana First Credit Union established this scholarship to honor her legacy. We continue to offer this scholarship in memory of her commitment to the credit union. This scholarship is available to University of Montana students in the School of Business Administration.

Contact the financial aid office and indicate that you are interested in the Mabel Allen Memorial Scholarship from Horizon Credit Union. Applicant must be a member of Horizon Credit Union or have a qualifying family member who is. 

Fred (Freddy) G. Searle, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship 

Established by Horizon Credit Union to honor Fred Searle’s leadership in growing EDTECH Federal Credit Union in Butte, Montana, this endowment is created to benefit incoming first-year students entering the Business and Information Technology program at Montana Tech. After merging with EDTECH Federal Credit Union in 2015, We are honored to play a part in carrying Searle’s legacy forward. Students must meet the following requirements: 

  1. Student(s) shall be a freshman in the Business & Information Technology program at Montana Tech. 
  1. Student(s) shall have a 3.0 GPA or higher

Contact the financial aid office and indicate that you are interested in the Fred (Freddy) G. Searle, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship from Horizon Credit Union. Applicant must be a member of Horizon Credit Union or have a qualifying family member who is.
