Horizon Credit Union Celebrates Impact of Ninth Annual Go. Give. Grow. Event
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – Horizon Credit Union hosted its ninth annual Go. Give. Grow. community service event on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026. All Horizon locations closed at noon so employees, leaders and board members could volunteer with 22 nonprofits across four states.
Aligning with the credit union’s philanthropic focus on health, hunger and education, volunteers supported nonprofits addressing housing and hunger challenges throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Several projects also addressed educational needs by providing nourishing snacks for young students so they can focus on learning.
In just one afternoon, Horizon team members sorted and repackaged 75,692 pounds of food; sorted and reorganized 15,097 pounds of clothing, toiletries and diapers; made 3,356 meals and meal kits for those facing food insecurity; crafted 3,400 cheerful cards and holiday stockings for isolated seniors.
Nonprofit partners that received support included Second Harvest, Meals on Wheels, Serve Spokane, Partners INW, Zilch Market, Soap Lake Food Bank, Community Services of Moses Lake, The Greenhouse, Colville Food Bank, Idaho Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, Community Kindness Thrift Store, Missoula Food Bank, Angel Room Great Falls, Butte Rescue Mission, Family Promise of Gallatin Valley, Bonner Community Food Bank, Family Promise of North Idaho, Teen and Kid Closet, Canopy Village, and Boise Rescue Mission.
“Go. Give. Grow. is one of the best examples of what it means to be a credit union,” said Jeff Adams, Horizon president and CEO. “When hundreds of team members step away from their desks and into the community, we see firsthand how much can be accomplished through collaboration and service. Every year, I’m inspired by the passion our employees bring to these projects and the impact they make for our nonprofit partners. Together, we’re helping build stronger, healthier communities across the Northwest.”
In addition to time spent volunteering for Go. Give. Grow., every volunteer receives 24 hours of paid volunteer time per year to use during work hours. Employees who volunteer 100 or more hours in a year receive a $500 donation to a nonprofit of their choice.
