Horizon Credit Union Wraps Its 8th Annual Employee Day of Service
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – Horizon Credit Union hosted its 8th annual Go. Give. Grow. community service event on Sept. 16, 2025. All Horizon locations closed at noon so employees, leaders and board members could volunteer with 22 nonprofits in four states.
Aligning with the credit union’s philanthropic focus on health, hunger and education, volunteers supported nonprofits addressing housing and hunger challenges throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Several projects also addressed educational needs by providing nourishing snacks for young students so they can focus on learning.
In just one afternoon, Horizon team members sorted and repackaged 112,000 pounds of food; sorted and reorganized 31,000 pounds of clothing, toiletries and diapers; made 10,575 meals and meal kits for those facing food insecurity; painted and waxed 5,200 square feet of walls and floors; and crafted 2,275 cheerful cards for isolated seniors.
Nonprofit partners that received support included Second Harvest, Meals on Wheels, Serve Spokane, Partners INW, Zilch Market, Caritas Food Bank, Next Chapter, Soap Lake Food Bank, Community Services of Moses Lake, The Greenhouse, Colville Food Bank, Idaho Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, St Vincent de Paul Boise, Community Kindness Thrift Store, Missoula Food Bank, Angel Room Great Falls, Butte Rescue Mission, Gallatin Valley Food Bank, Bonner Community Food Bank, Community Action Partnership and Family Promise of North Idaho.

“Go. Give. Grow. is a tangible way we put Horizon values into action” says Jeff Adams, Horizon president and CEO. “We come together to serve others and create a huge impact in a single day. Go. Give. Grow. reflects our culture as well. It sets a high standard for how the Horizon team connects with members of our communities year-round: with empathy, respect and a lot of heart!”
Though Go. Give. Grow is Horizon’s largest volunteer event of the year, giving back is a foundational part of the credit union’s mission. Every Horizon employee gets 24 hours of paid volunteer time per year to use during work hours, and employees who volunteer for 100 or more hours in a year are recognized with a $500 donation to a nonprofit of their choice.
